Hooked on Classics

Incredibly talented bartenders continue to tease our palates with their improvisational skills, which take liquid form in a variety of glasses.  Equally as impressive is the bartender who creates a classic cocktail with as much finesse and subtlety as the first day it was poured (which was likely to someone seated on a stool in New Orleans).

As July rolls around, you will find me in New Orleans taking in Tales of the Cocktail, a magical event where I have discovered dreams can start to come true.  This year, founder Ann Tuennerman, is saluting her beloved Crescent City with a toast to the classic cocktail, The Hurricane, created by Pat O'Brien, proprietor of Club Tipperary.

Looking forward to July so I'm preparing with a Fruitations' twist on a classic.

Storm's 'Brewin: Fruitations Hurricane

2 oz light rum

2 oz dark rum

¾ oz Fruitations Tangerine

¾ oz Fruitations Cranberry

1 oz fresh orange juice

1 oz fresh lime juice

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over ice into a large glass.

Drink and hold on for dear life!

Cheers!
