Art Thou Ready For Some Vito?!

Beginning this week, taste the genius of Vito Lantz every time you make a Fruitations drink recipe.  My friend and mentor is so generous with his spirit(s) and guidance.  And damn if he doesn't make me the best tasting drinks every time I see him.

In honor of the World Cup, our first of Vito's recipes is an Italian tribute.  Italy is the source of Liquore Galliano L'Autentico – an herbal liqueur – sweet with a vanilla-anise flavor.  Galliano is a tribute to Italy, created in Tuscany, and named for Giuseppe Galliano (an Italian war hero).

Galliano is enjoying a wonderful resurgence in the US thanks in large part to Anthony Pullen, Lucas Bols' man on this continent.  One the best known drinks using Galliano?  A Harvey Wallbanger.

Are you ready for some Vito?

The Harvey Treebanger (Harvey Wallbanger)
2 oz vodka
1 oz Fruitations Tangerine
1½ oz fresh orange juice
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
¼ oz Galliano
Add all ingredients except Galliano into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over ice in a highball glass. Float the Galliano on top and garnish with an orange or tangerine slice.

Forza Azzurri!
